iD Mobile is one of the fastest growing MVNOs ever in the UK market. We quickly grew to over 1.8 million subscribers as a disruptive new entrant, levering our unique position as the only network owned by Currys (a FTSE 250 company). iD is one of the main strategic growth opportunities for Currys, underpinning its mobile category.
 

As a Commercial Insight Analyst within the iD Mobile Commercial team, you will be responsible for reporting and analysing customer insights and presenting this to stakeholders. The role sits within the heart of the business and is key in understanding financial, usage and KPI insights. The successful candidate will be confident handling large volumes of data, drawing out trends and using commercial insight to highlight risks and opportunities. 


The role will require you to work closely with but not limited to, Finance, Marketing, Customer, Trading and Operations from MVNO, whilst creating a relationship with the wider business in Currys. Furthermore, you will need to work with our BI team including our external partner.

Key Responsibilities Include

Analysis & Insights:

  • Producing recurring reports, presentations and insights to the wider business in an accurate and timely manner
  • Providing commercial insights and recommendations to stakeholders 
  • Accurately updating and presenting the latest quarterly margin assumptions including highlighting and risks and opportunities
  • Supporting on ad-hoc queries or reports that come to the commercial team including supporting the Commercial Manager where necessary
  • Providing insight to our network partner (Three) both on a recurring and ad-hoc basis

Data:

  • Experienced in PowerBI and SQL, to build reports and draw insights
  • Understanding the business needs to build requirements for the BI team to deliver
  • Testing BI reports to ensure validity and accuracy of the data prior to going live whilst working closely with BI to provide feedback where necessary
  • On-going maintenance and enhancements of existing reporting to accommodate the business as it evolves
  • Drive insight and reporting improvements/efficiency by working with BI to automate reporting suite
  • Support where necessary on Commercial led projects


Required Skills & Experience

  • Ability to confidently manipulate large volumes of data and draw actionable conclusions
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills incl. Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of using data tools (e.g. Power BI, SQL, Databricks or similar)
  • Using data & insights to tell a story, identify risk and opportunities
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to probe for specific information to solve complex business issues
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, ability to work across functions
  • Strong attention to detail as well as a critical thinker
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple work streams
  • Experience in telco or similar subscription-based businesses preferred but not essential
