Senior Category Manager - Media (m/f/x)

As a Senior Category Manager for the Media category (Books, Games, Movies, Music) at rebuy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Media offerings. This role goes beyond traditional category management; it's about steering the media category towards achieving substantial revenue and profitability goals. Your passion for the world of physical media products, coupled with a strategic mindset, will be instrumental in managing our broad assortment.


We are currently looking for several Category Managers and welcoming applications from Junior to Senior. Please note that the responsibilities may vary depending on your experience level. The key responsibilities noted here are for the senior position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategies to steer 2 media categories along revenue and more importantly profitability goals, ensuring alignment with the overall company objectives.
• Play a critical role in supporting our pricing team, utilizing your analytical skills and passion for pricing to enhance our pricing tools and strategies. You will steer the purchase prices as well as the sales price we offer to our customers.
• Own cross media category projects and collaborate with multiple departments, including product, marketing, operations, and data science teams, to improve overall category performance and implement new features.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Category Management, preferably in e-commerce or retail, with a focus on physical goods, preferably in the media category.
• Strong analytical skills with a passion for pricing strategies and tools.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing category strategies, with a keen understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis.
• Good understanding of metrics around inventory health, with the responsibility to find a good balance between availability and overstock levels.

• Excellent skills in project management, working with cross-functional teams, and leading complex projects defining the problem, analyzing its components, decomposing it into subproblems, solving those subproblems, and then integrating the solutions.
• Proficiency in MS Office / Google Workspace, especially Excel / Google Sheets, knowledge in SQL/ Python is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in German and English.
