A Data Operations Analyst II role involves developing new scripts/processing procedures designed to accumulate, derive meaning from, and apply stewardship to, large datasets. This role will have to both be able to work with the US Operations Identity Data Team, the Public Records Team and Data Owners team’s internal datasets and tools, as well as be able to coordinate with outside groups to continuously meet their needs. The role is expected to be a key developer of US Data Operations Data tools and products, both in maintaining and upgrading existing tools and in developing new products using state of the art techniques and programming concepts.
This role is expected to leverage technology to transform our data maintenance from a reactive, manual update process to a proactive automated data maintenance process. Responsibilities
- Work with our data and operations team to improve the overall quality of data delivered to customers
- Develop data ingestion and mastering processes on new structured and unstructured data sources to synthesize new insight and enhance production database
- Conduct data analysis on data sources to be acquired/ingested to understand the data content and identify how viable the data source when processed can improve the overall quality of the US database.
- Automation of manual processes
- Building new analytical processes providing insight to data quality issues and implementation of data improvement solutions
- Build processes to fetch data from open data sources, eg web sites
- Profile data and perform analysis on large datasets to make and implement recommendations for maximizing use of the data to improve the quality of the US database
- Develop new scripts/processing procedures in a variety of programming languages to automate the ingestion of the data source resulting from either a pull/download from a website and/or pushed/sent to secure landing area.
- Data ingestion: Map new data sources into MDD/DAP and build automated ingestion process
- Infrastructure optimization and enhancements: Identify and implement efficiency improvements in our current data maintenance processes
Education/Experience and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information systems, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years work experience on large data projects - Ability to define/conduct big data analysis to identify and understand similarities and anomalies across reference data
- Required technical proficiency 3+yrs – MS Office including Access, SQL Server, Python, writing and tuning SQL queries, web technologies, data mapping from multiple data sources Familiar with AWS and/or Snowflake platforms and have successfully implemented processes on AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (1-3 years)
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on external and internal processes and data to identify data quality improvement opportunities
- Experience in business identity data (business names, addresses, phones, etc) related to master data management (1-3 years)
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail
- Ability to clearly communicate problem statement and solution
