About Master Data Manager:

The Master Data Manager ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the organization's master data. This critical role involves overseeing data quality, establishing master data governance frameworks, and collaborating with various departments to support informed decision-making across our operations in Europe and North America.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and demonstrates a proactive attitude with a commitment to excellence. In our fast-paced and growing organization, the candidate must quickly and efficiently adapt to new structures and processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accuracy and consistency of master data across all systems.
  • Developing and implementing master data governance frameworks.
  • Collaborating with various departments to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Overseeing data quality initiatives and rectifying discrepancies.

This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer, responsible for Digital Transformation, and requires close collaboration across the organization. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role.

Tasks:

Master Data Governance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish clear master data ownership and custodial duties.
  • Develop and implement master data governance policies and principles in collaboration with the Head of Data & Connectivity.
  • Train and educate staff on master data management protocols.

Master Data Maintenance

  • Clean up master data and their architecture, focusing initially on budgeting and controlling, with continuous improvement across all areas.
  • Administer and uphold master data in ERP and additional business systems, ensuring integration and synchronization across all relevant systems.
  • Ensure timely and accurate initial data entry and ongoing modifications.
  • Develop processes to address and rectify data discrepancies and inconsistencies as they arise.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Evaluate master data to uncover trends, patterns, and deviations.
  • Create reports and dashboards to support business operations and decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on master data analysis.

Master Data Quality Assurance

  • Proactively identify and amend data quality issues.
  • Develop and implement initial procedures for data quality verification and validation.
  • Conduct routine audits to affirm data precision and completeness.
  • Process Improvement
  • Drive initiatives to build master data management systems and infrastructure.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline master data management workflows.
  • Document and refine master data management practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Master Data Management and/or Data Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of top ERP systems (e.g., QAD, SAP) and other business systems (e.g. CRM).
  • Experience with manufacturing products, including configurable products (preferred).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Exceptional high level of detail – you love it when things match and add up.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Having experience with MDM, ETL, data warehousing tools and techniques is a major plus.
  • Formal continuous improvement training (e.g., Lean / Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Having experience with quality management systems, such as ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 is a plus.
