About the role - What’s your purpose?


We are looking for an engineer with hands-on experience in machine learning to join a close-knit, fully cross-functional team that makes product releases on a daily basis, decides product direction themselves and regularly tries out new approaches and technologies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities - What you will be doing?


  • Working hands-on with your team through the discovery, development and deployment of new and existing components of our platform
  • Helping your team identify problems, explore feasibility and potential value around solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our platform
  • Testing, optimising and productionising machine learning models and pipelines
  • Collaborating with other engineers, data scientists and product managers across the company
  • Participating with your team towards collectively identifying and setting its objectives and key results

What we use?

  • AWS and Terraform for our infrastructure
  • Clojure and Python to write our application code
  • Torch, tensorflow and scikit-learn for our machine learning models
  • Metaflow and MLflow for machine learning operations
  • Docker to run our services
  • Elasticsearch for solving high volume distributed search problems
  • DynamoDB and Redis for persistent data storage

Requirements

  • You have experience in large scale distributed systems and an understanding around how to build resilient and observable systems
  • You have experience building, deploying, testing and monitoring Machine Learning services, pipelines and products
  • You are proactive with a positive attitude, well organised, and adept at managing competing deadlines and priorities
  • You are comfortable with and excited by a fast-paced and often changing environment, eager to solve new problems and learn new skills in order to succeed
  • You have a self-starter mindset; you proactively identify issues and opportunities and tackle them without being told to do so
  • You are a team player whom your colleagues can rely on
