About the Role

Gartner is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer with a focus on data engineering. This individual will join a team dedicated to developing and supporting Gartner’s data warehouse and various data products. Responsibilities include working with both external and internal data sources via diverse ingestion APIs. The position offers the opportunity to engage with a range of technologies centered around data services and data science. Key tasks involve building new and leveraging existing data pipelines, as well as supporting, maintaining, and updating business intelligence solutions. The data engineer will be responsible for the technical implementation of current and future data warehouse solutions, business intelligence systems, integrated architecture, and development strategies.

What you’ll do:

• Design, build, and automate data pipelines and applications to support data scientists and researchers.
• Participate in the architecture design and implementation of high-performance, scalable, and optimized data solutions.
• Integrate data from various sources, including on-premise databases and external sources via REST APIs and harvesting tools.
• Collaborate with internal business units and data science teams to address data access, processing, transformation, and reporting needs.
• Partner with businesses on implementation, technical issues, and training related to the data lake ecosystem.
• Manage AWS and Azure resources (EMR, ECS clusters, etc.) and continuously improve the deployment process.
• Support the provisioning, monitoring, configuration, and maintenance of AWS and Azure tools.
• Promote and integrate new cloud technologies to enhance capabilities and reduce costs.
• Support automation efforts across the data analytics team utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Implement data governance, access control, and security measures to identify and reduce risks.
• Utilize Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Microsoft SQL.
• Design Synapse workspaces, integrate Power BI, and conduct performance benchmarking and configuration assessments.
• Understand database methodology, data analysis, data flow, SQL queries, ETL, and BI applications.
• Provide technical leadership for data and BI network design, ensuring low latency, high security, and high performance.
• Meet with business operations teams, users, and technical leaders to identify business opportunities and document requirements.

What you'll need:

• Strong SQL skills
• Excellent knowledge of relational database concepts
• Experience with reporting tools, Power BI preferable
• Experience with ETL tools, Azure Data Factory preferable
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• 3-5 years of experience in Design and Development of Cloud based data models, Azure experience preferable.
• Experience in reporting, analytic, model development and/or data science
• Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks and technologies

Nice to have:

• Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
• Experience with version control tools (Git, Subversion)
• Experience using automated build systems (CI/CD)
• Experience working in different programming languages (Java, python)
• Experience of Data Structures and algorithms
• Knowledge of different database technologies (Relational, NoSQL, Graph, Document etc…).  This should include building and managing scalable data models.
• Knowledge of ML model deployment

Who you are:

• Graduate/Post graduate in BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech or MCA is preferred.
• Excellent communication and prioritization skills.
• Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
• Owns success – Takes responsibility for successful delivery of the solutions.
• Strong desire to improve upon their skills in software development, frameworks, and technologies
