Job Description

The Digital Manufacturing Division is hiring a Business Intelligence (BI) Development Lead. This person will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development of BI solutions required by our company's Manufacturing Division. Development lead works closely with business stakeholders, data analysts and developers to design, build, and maintain data-driven solutions that support decision-making and business operations.  Successful candidate will be responsible to both deliver solutions themselves and direct the work of a small group of junior BI developers.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of BI strategies and solutions to meet the organization's data analysis and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and understand their data and reporting needs.
  • Design, develop, and manage BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Spotfire, Qlik Sense or QuickSight.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of BI developers, ensuring the quality and timely delivery of BI projects.
  • Conduct data analysis and modeling to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business performance improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data integration, data quality, and performance optimization.
  • Stay abreast of the latest BI technologies and best practices to continuously improve and enhance the organization's BI capabilities.
  • Mentor and support development of the team on their professional journey.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in BI development and data analysis, including hands-on experience with BI tools and technologies such Power BI, Spotfire, Qliksense or QuickSight.
  • Proficient in SQL, data modeling, and database design concepts.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and architectures.
  • Solid leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide and mentor a team of developers.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in English.
