Overall Purpose of Role:

The LME is seeking a highly motivated Market Data Reporting and Compliance Analyst. This is a key, essential role, overseeing the governance of the commercial market data business. The primary focus is to support the customer compliance and auditing programme to ensure that the LME’s market data policies are understood and adhered to.

Central to this role is overseeing the reporting requirements and data usage declarations with particular focus on over the counter (OTC) trades by Members and Clients under the LME’s Financial OTC Booking Fee policy.

The role involves providing administrative, reporting, licensing and compliance support across the Market Data function of the LME.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a busy and growing team at the London Metal Exchange (LME), supporting an important revenue stream for the business.

The Exchange is seeking an experienced, articulate and well organised team player to join the LME, the world centre for industrial metals trading in its London offices in Finsbury Square.  Duties include but are not limited to the key responsibilities outlined below. Market Data compliance and auditing experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of timely and accurate Management Information (MI). Analysing transaction data for the purposes of identifying trends, business insights and potential compliance issues.
  • Manage the reporting cycle and timely submission of reports to the LME from external entities; chasing non-submissions as required.
  • Liaise with Finance teams to action billing for LME reporting and manage the accruals process.
  • Act as a key point of contact for daily queries on reporting for eligible OTC Trade Reporting under the Financial OTC Booking Fee policy, and where necessary the wider market data reporting function.
  • Support the execution of the Market Data compliance and audit programme including collating pre-audit information and completing audit reconciliations.
  • Ensure all relevant LME policies and due diligence for KYC, Financial Crime and Data Privacy is delivered to the highest standard as part of the role.
  • Perform both on-site and remote market data audits to ensure the LME has a comprehensive and complete overview of a customer’s market data consumption.
  • Provide clear written and verbal insight and analysis of all audit findings and escalate matters as appropriate.
  • Work with and develop relationships with clients, team members, and other internal LME stakeholders to promote and support compliance with policies and ensure effective audit processes.

Academic and Professional Qualifications Required:

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths
  • A-level educated
  • Degree Level educated

Desired

  • Financial Information Associate (FIA) Market Data qualification from FISD

Required Knowledge and Level of Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative / market data licensing or compliance focused role or trade / transaction reporting capacity
  • Knowledge of Exchange Traded Derivatives Futures / OTC Metals Trading previous experience in Commodities Trading an advantage.
  • Experience of market data auditing at a Tier 1 or 2 Bank, Market Data Vendor or an Exchange
  • Excellent IT skills including:
  • Outlook – advanced
  • PowerPoint – advanced
  • Word – advanced
  • Excel –advanced
  • Experience in interrogating data warehouses / data analysis tools an advantage

Skills set and Core Competencies Required for Role:

  • First-rate organisational skills
  • Exceptional knowledge of MS Office packages, i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Excellent ability to prioritise work load to meet deadlines and manage expectations
  • Strong and confident communicator both verbally and in written form
  • Ability to multi-task; and work autonomously.
