Job Description

We are looking for an analytics expert to support the extraction, interpretation and analysis of data, driving insights and recommendations for our commercial functions. This role will partner our Marketing teams with a particular focus on ecommerce analytics. Sitting within the Performance and Planning team, we are the engine room of Abcam’s commercial function, empowering our colleagues and improving their commercial understanding so that they can better serve our customers effectively and efficiently. Our vision is to act as a catalyst for positive change across the customer-facing teams and the wider business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and improve Tableau performance reporting suites for Commercial teams
  • Utilize GA4, Google BigQuery, and SQL to extract, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data related to user behaviour, website performance, and ecommerce transactions.
  • Develop and implement statistical models to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop forecasting models to predict customer behaviour, sales trends, and other key ecommerce metrics.
  • Use reporting and analysis to identify areas to drive change, course corrections or further iterations in Commercial strategies
  • Prepare and present data/insights to senior stakeholders in a practical way to guide strategic decision making.  
  • Maintain and improve our data sources to allow faster, more automated reporting, working with our Data Engineering team who are owners of our main data sources.
  • Provide ad hoc analytics support to the function on data analysis, reporting and performance.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in digital ecommerce data science, with a focus on GA4, Google BigQuery, SQL, and statistical analysis. They will demonstrate strong proficiency in Tableau for data visualization, coupled with experience in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation. Strong communication skills are essential, as the ability to convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences is critical. Additionally, the candidate should possess significant commercial experience, with a clear understanding of how their work impacts the strategic success of the organization.
