The SNP Data Science Search and Ranking team is a longstanding team responsible for Grab Food and Mart Search and Ranking experiences. We make an impact by developing the state-of-the-art Deep Learning models to create better user experiences. Our team is made up of enthusiastic Data Scientists with various backgrounds. Get to know the job

• Develop creative and highly scalable machine learning algorithms to solve problems in Search, Ranking, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Model (LLM) domains that is critical to Grab’s business
• Drive product improvements and roll-out of new features with state-of-the-art algorithms

The Day-to-Day Activities

• Deep dive into the big datasets and prepare them for model building and training
• Design and build efficient and scalable deep learning and machine learning algorithms
• Evaluate the performance of the algorithms on image and/or text datasets
• Deployment of solutions to production platforms
• Contribute to team’s innovation and IP creation
• Keep up with the latest literature in Search, Ranking, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Model (LLM)
• Collaborate with other data scientists, software engineers, and business operation teams

Qualifications

The Must-Haves

• Ph.D. or Master graduate in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related technical disciplines
• Solid background in deep learning for Search, Ranking, Natural Language Processing, Large Language Model (LLM)
• Familiar with mainstream deep learning programming frameworks (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Excellent software development capabilities, preferably in Python/Scala with good programming style and work habits; knowledge of GoLang would be an advantage
• Self-motivated and independent learner who is willing to share knowledge with the team
• Detail-oriented and effective time management, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced working environment

The Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in working with food, delivery, and e-commerce data and use cases
• Knowledge of model compression techniques
• Experience with one or more big data processing frameworks such as Spark
• Experience in parallel programming and multithreading
• Knowledge in code optimization techniques
