The Head of Data Analytics, and Innovation is a strategic leadership role within Sandoz’s Technology organization, responsible for steering all facets of data management, analytics, and reporting to align with and support business objectives, while driving innovation in data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will act as a catalyst for change, steering our innovation greenhouse—a dynamic and collaborative environment where cutting-edge ideas are cultivated and nurtured into transformative business solutions.

 

Job Description

Major accountabilities:

Drive Strategic Transformation:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Data, Analytics and Innovation strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals.
• Partner with Business to build data-driven products and insights that support decision-making and drive business outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful architectural design, support development, and delivery of analytics products.

Architect the Future:

• Lead the implementation of modern Data, Analytics, and AI platforms, including the selection and integration of relevant toolsets.
• Construct data architecture using modern tools to convert business needs into data and system requirements.
• Develop and implement enterprise data governance processes, ensuring data accuracy, security, and compliance.
• Drive data architecture for agile and iterative implementations across systems and platforms, ensuring alignment with security requirements and business needs.

Champion Innovation Greenhouse:

• Establish strategic partnerships and frameworks that extend innovation beyond daily operations, enhancing our competitive edge and business agility while ensuring projects align with strategic goals and deliver substantial ROI.
• Drive innovation within the digital analytics function by exploring new analytics techniques and technologies, including leveraging AI and Machine Learning.
• Establish data architecture frameworks and standards to support scalable and efficient data management.

Leadership and Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing technology team.
• Plan talent development initiatives to equip the team with necessary skills.

Risk Management and Compliance Adherence:

• Develop and enforce a comprehensive risk management strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across technology platforms and business operations, ensuring proactive risk resolution.
• Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and industry standards across technology solutions, updating and maintaining protocols to adapt to new regulations.

• Drive Strategic Transformation: Achievement of strategic objectives related to digital analytics, including the successful implementation of digital analytics platforms and tools.
• Architect the Future: Development and execution of a data governance framework that ensures data integrity, security, and compliance.
• Operational and Process Excellence: Effective collaboration with business units and IT teams to deliver data-driven insights and solutions that support business objectives.
• Champion Innovation Greenhouse: Continuous improvement of the digital analytics function through the adoption of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices.
• Leadership and Development: Building a high-performing technology team aligned with strategic goals and cultivating a culture of innovation.
• Optimize Cost Management: Achieve significant cost reductions within the Technology department, thereby directly contributing to the organization's overall financial health and operational efficiency. 
• Risk Management and Compliance Adherence: manage effective risk mitigation strategies and strict adherence to legal, regulatory and security standards to prevent potential impacts on business operations.

Minimum Requirements:
Work Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in digital & data analytics, with a strong background in cloud-based platforms.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing digital analytics strategies and platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data and system requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to think analytically and drive business results through data-driven insights.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a passion for developing talent and fostering a collaborative team culture.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change and innovation.

Languages :

• English.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics).
• Master's degree or advanced certification in Analytics, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
