DevOps Engineer (with backend experience - Computer Vision (Argos platform))

Location: Ljubljana

ABOUT:

At Sportradar, we are building a world class, cloud-native, low latency computer vision inference pipeline (Project name: Argos) to bring computer vision workloads to production as one of the core technologies powering Sportradar's sports data collection.  

We are looking for an experienced DevOps engineer with back-end experience to join our AI Solutions team, which is developing innovative computer vision systems as well as Sportradar's data lake and data analytics platform.

Sportradar is a global leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data for hundreds of business customers around the world, in turn entertaining millions of sports enthusiasts.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Research, design, implementation, deployment and management of systems for real-time, low latency computer vision processing hosted in AWS.
• Optimisation of computer vision models to reduce latency and inference costs in production applications.
• Actively participate and contribute to computer vision model development projects.
• Present technical architectures, ideas and solutions to fellow engineers in a clear and understandable way, contribute to the evolution of our technology stack.
• Support Sportradar’s future computer vision and machine learning initiatives working with a growing team of talented data scientists and data engineers already dedicated to this mission.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Knowledge of programming in Python/Go (preferred both) with demonstrated hands-on experience.
• DevOps experience (hands-on experience with the design, set-up and administration of build and deployment pipelines and infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes concepts/objects.
• Hands on experience with administration and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters (Helm, Helmfile, ArgoCD...).
• Understanding and experience with Terraform (or other IaC frameworks).
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS/Azure (AWS preferred). Experience with configuring cloud services (IAM, S3...).
• Must be comfortable with modern software development methodologies such as agile development, git, CI/CD, code review, etc..
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science / Engineering, Mathematics / Statistics, or related field; equivalent experience acceptable.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Autonomous, rigorous, creative and a team player.

Bonus, but not required:

• Experience with Java programming.
• Understanding of machine learning / deep learning concepts and some. hands on experience with machine learning or computer vision using deep learning frameworks (e.g., Keras, PyTorch, Tensorflow, MXNet).
• Experience with productization of CV/ML models.
• C++ and GPU programming experience.
• Experience with Apache Kafka.
• CKA/CKAD certificates.
• Experience with running large-scale processing of any kind (hundreds of nodes).
• Experience with configuring and designing monitoring/observability systems (Prometheus, grafana, EFK/PGL stack).
