Data Analyst- Team Lead- State Street Global Advisors

This role is a key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our client facing teams, leadership and various other functions using industry best practices and advanced technologies. We’re looking for top talent who is versatile, self-motivated individual with strong business analysis skills, data management experience and an understanding of analytics tools and principles to partner with business stakeholders and IT colleagues.

The individual will analyze, design, develop and provide insight on large, complex data relationships. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, have excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, demonstrate an ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams, and collaborate with various audiences to build consensus on what constitutes a successful project outcome.

What you will be responsible for

As the Data Analyst within the Client Coverage Group (CCG) Sales Analytics Team, you will have an opportunity to work with the various functional teams across State Street Global Advisors. You will work alongside members of the Sales Analytics team with a variety of responsibilities, including:

• Build a variety of reports, data visualizations, and analyses to provide senior leadership with key metrics.
• Work and Interact with functional and management team to prioritize suggested changes from various analysis and communicate the outcome effectively.
• Design, build, test & deploy new and adapt existing reports & dashboards and should be able to query the disparate sources for data requirement and analysis.
• Design compelling data visualizations and storytelling to communicate complex ideas and generate insights to business leaders using Tableau.
• Connect to multiple data sources like Salesforce/Redshift/Excel/etc. and develop Analytical reports/dashboards.
• Transform data by using features in Alteryx like cleaning, sorting, pivoting, splitting, merge, group by and various techniques provided in Alteryx.
• Manage Alteryx workflows to automate and improve data transformations.
• Test reports, workflows, and dashboards to ensure data is accurate and applications are functioning as expected.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify trends and support immediate business strategic needs.
• Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
• Understand BI/Reporting architecture, functions, and features to deliver quality output.
• Interact effectively with, present information to, and respond to questions from all levels of the organization and partners.
• Reconcile data between source and end reports, and across reports, to ensure consistency and accuracy.
• Leverage strong written and verbal communication to interact with customer business users and technical team to understand the requirements.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or its equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
• Overall 4-7 years of progressive experience in BI and data analytics.
• 2-4 years hands-on experience in Tableau & Alteryx.
• Demonstrated experience in developing Analytics solutions and visualizations involving enterprise data systems using Alteryx and Tableau.
• Good hands-on experience in writing SQL queries to support dashboard development and data validation.
• Good knowledge and experience using Salesforce Reports & Microsoft Excel.
• Familiar with data warehouse and database concepts and principles.
• Working experience in the application or reporting development experience with exposure to analytics tools
• Effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.

Additional requirements (preferred but not mandatory)

• 1-2 years of experience in the consulting and/or financial services industry (asset management experience a plus)
• Experience with databases and python will be an added advantage.
• Technical expertise / knowledge of MS Excel, Salesforce, and data visualization.
