The primary focus of the System Support & Integration Manager (SSIM) is to set up, maintain and continue to develop the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) System Governance framework to ensure that IT assets support business objectives around data and systems. The SSIM is accountable to drive the operational excellence within GCS and consults with Business Process Manager (BPM) and System Landscape Owner to determine business need to build solid business cases for improvement process initiatives, assesses new technologies and defines new infrastructure requirements, designs digital approaches and methodology, analyzes organizational data to recommend solution to new and complex problems, adopts data driven approach in decision-making and building new business models. The System Support & Integration Manager plays a major role in the implementation and integration of strategic projects in order to bring the GCS organization to the next functional excellence level, ensuring full integration with the other functions of the TRD organization when necessary. Independently manages and has operational end to end responsibility for the assigned systems and data. Leads and manages activities and participates in cross-functional teams.
Job Description
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Acts as a single point of responsibility for System Governance for the assigned Line function in GCS and TRD within Information and System Governance Team
- Manages activities within GCS organization related to standardization of IT assets (systems and data), to ensure that IT services support core processes of the business.
- Leads the initiative to improve the existing IT landscape, identifying new technologies and test applicability, systems that connect internal data sets for structured and unstructured data and predictive Analytics, driving continuous process improvement in close alignment with for GCS and TRD
- Leads activities related to establishing System Governance processes for IT Platforms (ie SAP, Kinaxis, Blockchain etc..), and collaborates with other TRD functions and IT teams in ensuring reliable system performance and fitness for use
- Plays a strategic role in the implementation of priority projects related to:
- Building / maintaining IT platforms and system across functional boundaries.
- Integrating system governance at TRD and GDD level
- Streamlining the IT architecture by bringing the new digital capabilities into the iCS Landscape
- Enabling Advanced statistical analysis and predictive modelling
- Provides expert guidance to BPMs and PMO on business process and system design to support IT system governance and information modelling objectives.
- Integrates high end analytical tools and business domain expertise to solve business problems leveraging data.
- Works with big data integration and data manipulation, conducts analysis of business needs and support the implementation of required projects and improvement initiatives. Actively contributes and participates in the System Governance and Change Advisory Board
- Identify technological advancements and opportunities that will advance the data & systems, resolves system/application issues within agreed timelines and run root cause analysis to avoid reoccurrence of similar issues.
- Supports the Line Functions during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities including test case design, test execution and defect management to ensure successful project go-lives.
- Provides training and knowledge transfer to Business Process Managers (BPM) and Super Users as a result of project handover.
- Adopting a data driven approach in decision-making and building new business models, Supports Business Process Manager (BPM) to assess risks and guarantee global harmonization, standards, compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements for systems and processes.
- Defines set of KPIs to measure system/application performance, supports activities related to data modelling, data visualization, data analysis, data integration and data manipulation.
- Acts as an evangelist and catalyst for innovation in the data and digital area, being role model for Novartis values and behaviors.
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced degree in science, engineering or relevant discipline (Ph.D., MBA or equivalent)
- 8years of practical experience in chemical / pharmaceutical industry or > 4 years of experience in field of expertise
- Recognized expertise in related field.
- Thorough knowledge about the Drug Development and Clinical Supply processes
- Good knowledge about program and project management, business analysis, high end analytics tools (SAP BW, Qlik, Python etc...) risk management and excellent organization and planning skills
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. GMP, HSE etc.) and Novartis specific standards.
- Demonstrates cross-functional problem-solving and idea generation skills.
- Strong communication skills. Strong presentation skills. Advanced coaching skills
- Proven leadership skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in interdisciplinary and cross-cultural teams.
