Manager, Data Enablement, Payment Decision Support

The Payment Decision Support team’s mandate is to provide data services such that PC Financial can capitalize on diverse sources of data to improve our understanding of customer behaviors to optimize profitability.  The objective of this role is to drive data modernization to the cloud and provide optimized, easy-to-use and timely data based solutions.  Specifically, the Manager will be responsible for:

What you will do:

  • Define data modernization strategy and lead the effort of expediting data migration to the cloud (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Manage a team of 1-2 data enablement analysts, coach and guide them on career development.
  • Execute on the data enablement roadmap that provides modernized and automated tool suites to enhance efficiency of internal analytical teams.
  • While keeping abreast of big data technology trends, identify opportunities to improve and enhance PCF’s Business Intelligence infrastructure and cloud data adoption (tools, data sources, platforms)
  • Champion initiatives to advance data capabilities across the organization, assist with developing and implementing enterprise data strategy
  • Provide technical and general leadership to ensure the team is meeting SLAs while maintaining vigorous quality standards and controls
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients to ensure information solutions are meeting expectations and to manage data request process
  • Support department wide regulatory, governance and compliance practices by participating in Data Governance Office and Business Compliance programs.

What you will need:

  • University degree in Business/Commerce, Computer Science/Engineering/Analytics
  • Technical know-how with: Python, Google Cloud Platform, SQL and relational databases, ETL technologies, SSRS, Tableau, Visual Studio Code, MS Azure, Spark
  • Demonstration of expertise in the following domains: data solutions, data tools, big data/cloud data platforms, business intelligence/reporting, data warehouse/data mart, data governance initiatives, data strategy and transformation
  • Experience with solution design and data architecture
  • Progressive experience in the data and analytics domain, with management experience. Experience working with technology teams is a bonus.
  • Strong technical background, past experience with medium to large scale data projects preferably in a financial service/banking setting
  • Ability to successfully communicate complex problems verbally, written or via decks/presentations
  • Project management know how, leadership and business acumen
  • Highly organized and excellent time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with multiple stakeholders and garner consensus
  • Understanding of data science and advance analytics concepts
