We are looking for a person with a strong quantitative and technical background. You will be part of a small but growing team of data scientists and analytics engineers that specialize in measuring and predicting the outlook for the Spotify Freemium business. In the role you will support the development and direction of the in-house user forecasting models, using large scale data from across the organization to deliver accurate impact estimates on a global scale for senior business partners. You will also own and develop a number of core dashboards supporting the forecast and enable in-depth performance monitoring. As part of your role you will build a deep understanding of the Spotify business and enable better decision making across the entire organization.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with the company forecast including modeling the base outlook as well as estimating the impact of new business initiatives
  • Analyze and explore alternative approaches to current methodologies and drive improvements to forecast accuracy and execution
  • Build scalable data pipelines and systems to facilitate business performance tracking and business modeling.
  • Own and develop dashboards over core business metrics and how they track against the company outlook

Who You Are

  • Coding background for analytics and data purposes (including SQL) with experience writing code daily in at least one language such as Python, R, C++, Java and/or Scala. Previous experience analyzing large datasets in a cloud based-environment is a plus.
  • At least 1 year of Data Science and/or Quantitative Modeling experience, preferably with a focus on forecasting/prediction
  • Used to communicate data heavy insights using visualization tools such as D3, ggplot, Tableau, Data Studio or Qlik.
  • Expertise in relevant quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics or Mathematics
