Within Analytical Data, we will uncover go-to-market initiatives that drive revenue, discover automation potential, innovations and efficiency gains. Unlocking and sustaining growth over time requires accurate and precise measurement of our most important business metrics, from acquisition through the customer lifecycle. It requires us to foster a data-aware culture and use analytical insights to help understand customer behaviours and nurture a deep understanding and empathy for how they engage with our products and services.

The Head of Analytics will play a central role in driving data-aware decision making within the company. They will be responsible for executing our Analytics vision and culture and championing the use of data in making key business decisions. They will lead a team of analysts across multiple domains in collecting, analysing, and interpreting data to provide valuable insights and recommendations to drive the business forward.

This role is a high impact, critical position that will tackle a wide variety of topics and opportunities at a quick pace and on a truly global scale. You will use your strategic thinking and immense drive to help innovate and deliver business value within the Data Analytics chapter as part of a fast paced and rapidly scaling organization. What you’ll do

• Execute and effectively communicate the long-term strategy for Data Analytics capabilities across SumUp
• Directly lead and develop a team of Data Analysts, Analytical Engineers and Data Engineers that work across Revenue Analytics, Business Intelligence and App & Web Marketing teams
• Set common standards and ensure metric consistency across the broader organisation, ensuring team alignment and empowering collaboration and effective prioritisation across teams and value streams
• Maintain and further develop the necessary tools to deliver data products efficiently and effectively enable data-aware innovation and customer-insight driven development
• Foster a culture of data-aware decision making by employing effective Analytics operating models, and applying exceptional business acumen across the Data and Insights teams
• Partner with Product and Tech leaders to embed data-aware decision-making in product development
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering organisation and Data Engineering platform to set common Tech standards, align on the overall data strategy and priorities, and deliver cross-functional projects using core Data and Platform capabilities
• Guide tribes across the business to define and deliver their own data products with clear governance and scalable controls. 
• Develop new data capabilities in line with industry standard methodologies and emerging technologies
• Prototype and evaluate new product ideas, focusing on advances in Gen AI, Machine Learning, and sophisticated data modeling techniques
• Lead Measurement, Instrumentation, User Consent Management, and Metrics Reporting
• Provide Analytics leadership across SumUp, ensuring that professionals in this job community are set up for success in their skill development, career paths, and by promoting cross-functional collaboration
• Represent Data Analytics internally and externally, driving visibility, education, and collaboration amongst fields

You’ll be great for this role 

• You have proven experience in leading Data Analytics teams and have had full or partial ownership of all Data Analytics topics in a decentralized, highly agile organization with globally distributed software engineering teams and cloud environments that process high volumes of data. 
• You have experience achieving success and buy-in through influence and the ability to navigate a complex stakeholder landscape in a matrix environment.
• You have developed Data Analysts of all levels on their technical skills, strategic insights, and business partnering with diverse peers across the organisation.
• You have strong business acumen and executive partnering skills. You have a consistent track record of successfully delivering measurable customer impact and sustaining quality standards and shared methodologies for data management, analyses, and insight.
• You have proven experience operating as an equal business partner to Finance, Marketing, Product and Technology counterparts, co-creating solutions for customer problems and building on each others’ strengths.
• You are a self-assured, confident and impactful communicator.
• You have a strong technical foundation in data analytics: proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, data visualization, and programming languages such as SQL, Python, DBT, R, etc., deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and database systems.
• You know how to collaborate with Central Platform Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of data governance policies, infrastructure data platform & delivery technology requirements.
