Position Summary

The RN Data Analyst is responsible and accountable for collecting, validating, entering, organizing and interpreting data for Evidence Based Medicine Measures and Quality Measures.  The RN Data Analyst supports quality and process improvement efforts that are identified concurrently and retrospectively.  The RN Data Analyst enters all appropriate patients information into the required databases, and maintains all components of the Quality files. The RN Data Analyst is also responsible for compiling information and statistics for various reports/projects on a scheduled basis. The RN Data Analyst also recognizes any downward trends and is able to focus on re-education of physicians and staff for future improvement.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

           Minimum:       Graduate of accredited school of nursing and RN Degree.

 Preferred:        Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. 

EXPERIENCE:      

Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of experience in an acute clinical care setting.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

         Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Excellent computer skills including the ability to utilize Word and Excel to produce reports, tables, graphs, etc.

This individual's responsibilities include the following activities:
a) tracking, trending, and analyzing data to identify and improve processes related to Quality / Performance Improvement programs.
b) makes daily rounds on nursing units and identifies areas of opportunity to improve patient outcomes.
c) Generates reports, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations as needed to assist in the Quality / Performance Improvement efforts.
d) actively supports ongoing Joint Commission preparation including participation in the Joint Commission Survey Ready Team, unit-based audits, record reviews, and tracers in the coordination of and participation in mock surveys.

Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree inpatient care related field

Experience:

Required: 3 years of experience in healthcare or quality management
