Senior Data Analyst – Investment Solutions

We will count on you to: 

  • Drive the delivery of key data management initiatives as a liaison and close partner to business to ensure alignment to organizational goals.
  • Engage closely with key stakeholders across business to identify data requirements and collaborate cross functionally to deliver data solutions.
  • Develop a thorough understanding and clearly document requirements, data mappings, dependencies, data definitions, specifications and business processes including data flows.
  • Drive engagement with stakeholders, propose and implement ways to continuously enhance adoption and data usage practices.
  • Identify creative methods to drive alignment on ideas, implementation approaches across business, data and technology teams both internally as well as external solution partners.
  • Develop and implement scalable data solutions to support a metrics-driven operations model, ensuring adherence to data ownership, quality, accuracy, and timeliness principles.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through effective project management and ensure timely delivery of data solutions addressing all areas of investment management lifecycle.
  • Support and influence the development of Mercer’s overall data delivery strategy.

What you need to have: 

  • 5+ years experience working either directly in the finance industry in a data related role for example, at an Investment Manager or Custodian or for a vendor providing services to the buy side.
  • Provide thought leadership on designing data capabilities for investment and asset management business functions across front-office, middle-office and back-office workflows.
  • Possess strong conceptual understanding of investment management processes, financial markets, custodial services, investment operational data needs, portfolio management reporting & monitoring.
  • Bring familiarity with integrating disparate data eco systems, data models and supported business workflows.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of front, middle, and back-office functions within the investment management, wealth management or asset management industry.
  • Experience dealing with a range of financial market related data sets and asset classes.
  • Experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and database management systems, with a focus on supporting business needs.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and practices, including metadata management and data quality assurance.
  • Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills using tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SQL skills
  • Strong proficiency in RDBMS, structured and unstructured data analysis

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with software used for trading and financial data management such as Eagle, State Street Alpha, CRD, Aladdin, Factset, Bloomberg is a strong plus.
  • Certifications such as CAIA, CIPM, or CFA is a strong plus.
