Data Analyst

Primary responsibilities

Software Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Proficiency in SQL query-writing and data profiling.
• Familiarity with Big Data/Hadoop platform and experience with Python.
• Experience in data integration, data conversions, and ETL development.
• Basic familiarity with Collibra for maintaining the repository of Critical Data Elements.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Conduct data analysis, data profiling, and data sourcing for business requirements.
• Create and maintain Data Quality (DQ) rules and review any DQ exceptions.
• Manage the Global Financial Crime (GFC) Critical Data Element list in the Enterprise Data Governance repository (Collibra).
• Provide support to business analysts and developers with data subject expertise, query building, and optimization.
• Translate business requirements into data models and ETL design specifications.
• Assist in ETL development, testing, and troubleshooting of ETL issues.
• Troubleshoot data issues and collaborate with data providers for resolution.

• At least 5 years of experience in the financial industry with knowledge of financial services data.
• Experience in data integration, data conversions, and troubleshooting data issues.

Day-to-Day Activity:

• Analyze and profile data to support business requirements and data sourcing.
• Create and maintain Data Quality (DQ) rules and review exceptions for data integrity.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to optimize data queries and ETL processes.
• Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution.

Qualifications & Soft Skills:

• Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Strong analytical, profiling, and troubleshooting skills for data analysis and management.
• Familiarity with data visualization and modeling tools to enhance data insights.
• Basic familiarity with Collibra for maintaining the repository of Critical Data Elements.
