Job Description

What will you be doing?

As an Powertrain Systems Engineer, you will join our Peterborough team (hybrid) to support our activities within the automotive sector.

 

We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer with expertise in Catia Magic Draw and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) skills to join our team at Alten. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of cutting-edge HV battery and HV systems. If you have a minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering and a passion for innovation, we encourage you to apply.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage requirements for powertrain control systems and software.
  • Create and perform simulations using MATLAB Simulink to support system design and optimization.
  • Conduct validation testing of aftertreatment systems to ensure performance meets regulatory and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate powertrain systems into vehicle platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to powertrain system integration and validation.
  • Document and report on technical findings, test results, and project status.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in powertrain engineering.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in powertrain systems engineering, with a focus on diesel engines preferred.
  • Strong skills in requirements management for control systems and software.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB Simulink for system simulation and modeling.
