What role you will play in our team

 

Joining Process Innovation and Scale-Up with ExxonMobil Technology and Engineering Company, you will be an integral technical contributor to process development and scale-up programs applying transport phenomena and fluid dynamics fundamentals and computational physics-based modeling skill sets to support unit design, optimization, and scaleup that are critical to manufacturing operation and developing new process technologies.

What you will do

 

  • Apply expertise in fluid mechanics and transport phenomena to support the design and modifications of reactors with applications across ExxonMobil Business Divisions; Upstream Company, Product Solutions Company, and Low Carbon Solutions.
  • Serve as a key member of a cross-discipline, geographically dispersed team to tackle time sensitive fluid dynamics problems at ExxonMobil manufacturing sites. Analyze, interpret, present, and document CFD model results.
  • Serve as a team player to support CFD to research and process engineering community.
  • Demonstrate strong background in physics based modeling, particularly in the areas of fluid dynamics and transport phenomena, and a broad interest applying these skills to process development.
  • Many problems rely on strong base in chemical engineering unit operations – with a suitable academic/experience background, that can be developed through assignments on projects.

About You

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Relevant Master’s or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with minimum GPA 8 and above
  • Candidates should have minimum 5 years of experience into models of fluid mechanics and transport, in areas such as multiphase modeling, and reactive flow modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Applying models of fluid mechanics and transport, in areas such as multiphase modeling, and reactive flow modeling.
  • Computational languages: Transport modeling on platforms such as Ansys Fluent or OpenFOAM, MatLab, Python, C/C++
  • High performance computing
  • Strong ability and interest to solve real-world problems under time constraints as a member of a global team
  • Driven and self-motivated
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility for international travel (rare)

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

 

  • Sound understanding of typical refinery and chemical operation units
  • Solid understanding and efficient execution of Custom Models (Fluent UDFs, OpenFOAM)
  • Ability to leverage alternative modeling methodologies as needed for work effectiveness
