Data Analyst

Good news! 1WorldSync is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Portugal team in Lisbon or Porto.1WorldSync is the industry leader in product content management. With 600 employees across the US, Brazil, Canada, France, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, and the UK, we’re seeking a Software Engineer to support our growing global team.Reporting to the Director, Data & Analytics, the Data Analyst will play a crucial role in our Data team. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with various departments including Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Engineering, to develop and implement automated, data-driven solutions and analytical tools that empower users to make effective decisions, both internally and externally to the company. You'll contribute to enhancing operational efficiencies and informing decision-making processes across the organization. As a Data Analyst, the successful candidate will:

• Develop data-driven dashboards using Python, BigQuery SQL, and Power BI.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of extensive datasets, extracting insights into patterns, trends, and seasonal fluctuations.
• Perform ad-hoc analyses to address immediate business needs.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement automated solutions aligned with predefined objectives.
• Apply analytical techniques to tackle operational challenges.
• Assist in eliciting data requirements from cross-departments, including Customer Support, Product, Finance, Engineering  and Sales teams.
• Update, remove or archiving data flows in the context of Data Analysis, where applicable.
• Maintain proper documentation for all queries, script and other tools used/developed, including processes and procedures.
• Guide the data side process of performing A/B tests to aid in critical business decisions, including all related analytical work.
• Translate Business Requirements into detailed functional specifications, training programs and process documentation. 
• Follow security processes for the development of analytical tools/dashboards, including the operations and administration of related systems where these will be made available (e.g. Power BI).
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
• Assist in project feasibility and level-of-effort analysis by providing findings, with supported evidence, of the best approaches to take.
•  Identify and manage risks with timely reporting and appropriately escalates issues.
• Communicate solutions, designs, and processes with the QA, Development and launch teams.
• Perform QA on developed solutions to ensure quality is as expected, before being reviewed by senior colleagues.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

• A professional with 1-3 years of experience in data analytics, with a strong foundation in analytical capabilities.
• A graduate in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python, BigQuery, and BigQuery SQL.
• Skilled in predictive analytics and experienced in BI tools, particularly Power BI.

 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

• Experience with A/B test theory and practice, including different methodologies applied in A/B testing and best practices.
• Familiarity with BI UX design, dashboard layout, and chart/card design within the Domo platform.
• Experience with cloud platform-based servers and systems.
• Experience working with JIRA and Scrum.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Tool Suite (i.e. Google Sheets, Google Slides & Google Docs).
• Capabilities in Data Science with Python and experience with Keras/Tensorflow for deep learning applications.
• Familiarity with building Machine Learning models and deep learning for Data Science tasks.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliver to project timelines.
• Proven track record of delivery and cross functional collaboration.
• Proven ability to assemble the appropriate resources to resolve issues quickly and innovatively.

Additional Details:

• This is a remote position, with the option to work in the Porto or Lisbon office. with occasional visits to Porto or Lisbon offices.
• This role requires the candidate to have the authority to work in, and be located in Portugal.
