Job Description

This role will be responsible for establishing and leading the Data Governance function within Cuscal to ensure Cuscal is meeting regulatory expectations with respect to the management of Data Risk.

The objective of this role is to define, implement and embed Cuscal’s data governance frameworks, practices, and procedures in accordance with APRAs CPG 235 and leading frameworks including defining the risk appetite, KRIs and providing regular Board and executive reporting.

The role will work closely with data domain leads, other Heads Of to embed data management and data governance practices within Cuscal as well as Risk & Compliance regarding the interface into the operational risk management framework.

Qualifications

6+ years’ experience in data risk management and data governance within financial services, consulting organisation or similar highly regulated or critical services industry (healthcare, telco, critical infrastructure).

Previous experience performing and/or leading teams to perform:

• Implement risk/governance policies
• Implement and run risk/governance forums and councils
• Identify critical data elements
• Map and document business data flows
• Document and assess data risks and controls
• Data issue management
• Data quality management

Desirable:

• Deep understanding of data risk management frameworks and APRA prudential requirements (CPG235)
• Data Risk and/or Data Management and/or Data Governance Certifications (e.g. CDMP, CIMP) or relevant professional experience
• Data Privacy Certification or experience (CIPP)
