At Zoopla, our success rests on the Commercial/Sales teams and the connections they establish. We're currently transitioning to provide them with the best possible information to meet both immediate and strategic needs. As a key member of the data team, you'll lead and define this approach, supporting this crucial department. Join us in driving excellence and innovation in our commercial efforts.
Responsibilities
- Taking full ownership of the data relationship with the commercial / sales teams, including actively managing data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and delivering timely insights to support sales strategies and decision-making
- Line management of another analyst within commercial analytics
- Leading and defining projects & workload within the data team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities
- Driving continuous improvement in data processes and analytics capabilities
- Challenging the status quo by critically evaluating existing processes, methodologies and assumptions to identify opportunities to innovation and optimisation
- Supporting customer needs by leveraging data-driven insights to understand customer behaviour, preferences and trends
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored solutions and experiences
- Identifying and interpreting performance trends and growth drivers through comprehensive analysis of sales, marketing and customer data and translating these insights
- Proactively identifying revenue and product opportunities for sales teams and customers through advanced data analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence
- Engaging in diverse tasks across data disciplines, including developing dashboards, conducting deep-dive analysis, applying ML techniques, and implementing data transformation processes using tools like DBT (Data Build Tool) and others
- Encouraging stakeholders to pose and address their own queries using data by promoting data literacy and providing training and support on data tools and techniques
- Building and nurturing strong analyst-stakeholder relationships, fostering collaboration, trust, and open communication, and ensuring that Sales teams perceive the data team as an indispensable partner in achieving their goals

Technical Skills
Essential
- Proficient in SQL with a proven track record of handling complex data queries and manipulation, on a modern data stack
- Demonstrable experience with Tableau or similar data visualisation tools, including the ability to create insightful and user-friendly dashboards and reports
Desirable
- Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) or similar data transformation technologies, with a keen understanding of data modelling and ETL processes
- A background in statistics and/or programming, with the ability to apply statistical methods and algorithms to extract insights from data
- Familiarity with machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, preferably in Python, R, or another programming language, enabling the development and implementation of predictive models and data-driven solutions
