Essential Job Duties
You will:
As a Cloud Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and database systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based systems and databases. The ideal candidate is passionate about cloud technologies and database management, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of various areas of specialization, principles, and practices within Cloud implementation and database management. A Cloud Engineer with Database Expertise addresses system incidents and issues using a wide variety of tools and techniques to determine root cause and make Cloud and database implementations more resilient and stable. You may be involved in a wide range of projects which require clarity of thought, building on experience, and working with a team.
You will:
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions to support the company's applications and services.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust database solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with software developers, administrators, and database developers to ensure seamless integration of cloud services and databases into existing infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain cloud and database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and monitoring, to protect sensitive data and comply with industry regulations.
- Optimize cloud infrastructure and database performance and cost-effectiveness through continuous monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning.
- Automate repetitive tasks and streamline deployment processes using configuration management tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime for critical services.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud and database technologies and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on the company's infrastructure and database strategy.
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in Linux Administration, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS.
- Proven experience in database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security controls in cloud and database environments.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Relevant cloud and database certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Oracle Certified Professional) are highly desirable.
