Krosch) investigates social and economic factors that amplify discrimination, and the basic social-cognitive, perceptual, and emotional processes through which this occurs. We take a multilevel approach to research, integrating ideas and methods from experimental social psychology, cognitive neuroscience, behavioral decision-making, and psychophysics.

The Research Aide supports the lab by assisting in gathering and organizing data in support of a variety of research projects; participant recruitment and scheduling, and administering protocols; helping to develop study materials (including developing surveys in Qualtrics); conducting web-based literature review or search for related research as directed; coding of data; scheduling interviews with potential research assistants; ordering supplies and maintaining lab equipment; providing information or instruction on policies/procedures to research assistants involved in conducting studies. The position is geared toward motivated individuals interested in pursuing an advanced degree or career in psychology in the future, as it will also offer the opportunity to develop independent research projects with the possibility of publication. This position will be split between both the PAC Lab and the (In)equality Lab.
This is a 12 month, full time position with possibility of extension depending on funding.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma and up to one year of relevant experience, or equivalent combination.
Coursework in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cognitive science, statistics, or related fields.
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cognitive science, statistics, or related fields
Basic experience analyzing data (SPSS, R, Excel).
Basic background in programming surveys (e.g., Qualtrics) and computer programs (e.g., Matlab, Python, C/C++, Java, shell scripting, etc.)
Some experience collecting and analyzing data
Desire to pursue a career in psychology/neuroscience (and to manage independent research projects)
