Credit risk Models are of paramount importance to ING Wholesale Banking (‘WB’) given that they are covering 50% of ING's capital consumption and provisions. The new CoE WB Models department (formerly part of Capital & Liquidity Expertise Centre / CLEC) is co-owner of ING’s credit risk Models and pivotal in the delivery of the redeveloped WB credit risk models, collaborating with all business lines and countries within the Bank.

The Scoping and Default Expert team will be supporting all data related requests addressed towards the CoE WB Models organization. It participates in the remediation of data, reporting and solving data related issues with a special focus on Scope and Default related data. The team consists of two core profiles / capabilities to make the new set-up a success. Data Analysts for providing detailed data analysis capabilities to support the other teams in their delivery and deliver fact-based reporting and pro-active in-depth analysis and advice. Furthermore, CJE profiles will provide business analysis capacity to analyze trends in the portfolio, improving processes and provide analysis capacity and addressing questions during all phases of the model life cycle (incl. during ECB on-sites).

Your role
We are looking for a Data Analysts, who will become part of the Expert Team Scoping and Defaults. The Data Analysts will collect, analyzes, report on scoping and default data and generates insights for the other teams, Management and business to provide robust evidence to support decision making. The team uses a variety of traditional and novel methods and systems to provide critical data-driven insights.

In your role of Data Analyst IV, you will:

  • Monitor WB (technical) default data periodically and create valuable insights for stakeholders including the expert teams.

  • Identify model input DQ issues and monitor these.

  • Perform periodical scoping reporting for model redevelopment and production data.

  • Support the expert teams with a broad range of data related requests, with a special focus on scoping and default data.

  • Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify impact on the business.

  • Perform complex statistical analysis and utilize mining, modeling, and testing techniques to enable data analysis.

Job requirements Data Analyst IV:

We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge and experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience as Data Analyst

  • Experience working with Default, Scope and/or IRB/Risk data

  • Proven problem-solving skills and knack for analytics.

  • Experience with statistical data analysis tools (e.g. SAS, R) and reporting tools.

  • Good communicator – ability to take knowledge from experts, make complex simple and convey the message in a convincing way to our stakeholders.

  • Basic knowledge of credit risk regulations and model concepts (e.g., PD, EAD, LGD).

  • “Make it happen” mindset and track record.
