Product Vision and Strategy:
Research, define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with the company's overall strategy.
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the assigned data product(s).
Conduct market research, stakeholder & competitive analysis and customer feedback analysis to inform product strategy. Identify opportunities for product innovation.
Use survey tools and interviews effectively and without bias.
Optimizes business processes
Ensures product completeness
Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate clearly and actively participate in meetings
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the assigned data product(s).
Negotiate with stakeholders from different areas in troubleshooting cases which disrupt product development activities.
Articulate business logic to technical manager and anticipate implementation challenges.
Product Requirements:
Develop the solution vision and roadmap
Define milestones, releases and solution increments
Define and prioritize high-level product requirements based on input from stakeholders, market research, and strategic goals. Create product documentation such as Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Product Requirement Documents (PRD), and specifications.
Collaborate with engineering manager and dev teams to translate requirements into actionable scenarios, user stories and features.
Product Development and Delivery:
Set timelines, define milestones, and track progress for product development.
Create and manage product(s) backlog.
Lead the product development process from ideation to release, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Work closely with development teams to ensure that product features are developed according to specifications and meet user needs.
Lead effective brainstorming sessions and resolve conflicts constructively.
Metrics and Evaluation:
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product effectiveness and business value.
Regularly monitor and analyze product metrics to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and optimize product features.
Set success metrics for epics, issues, and tracks post-launch metrics
Analyze product performance data and compare with market trends if possible.
Identify potential risks to the product's success and develop contingency plans to mitigate them
Trace user issues back to underlying problems and provide solutions
Requirements
Product Evangelism:
Act as an advocate for the product, both internally and externally, by promoting its value proposition and benefits.
Represent the product at customer/company meetings when needed.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven experience as a product manager, preferably in the IT/software industry 7+ years.
Experience with technological data products.
Expertise and Understanding:
Strong understanding of data product management principles, data analytics, and software development processes.
Domain area expertise in establishing data warehouse, including performing extensive domain and market research to determine product vision and strategic roadmap.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and techniques.
Experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies and their applications in data products.
Skills in data engineering to build data products
Skills in data analysis and data science to understand how those products will be used
Skills in data platform development, coding pipelines, managing data quality monitoring
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership qualities and the ability to influence and motivate others towards a common goal.
Familiarity with different roadmap prioritization frameworks and ensuring solution viability.
Adaptability and flexibility in approach.
Ability to identify and solve problems effectively, leading products to success
