Job Summary
The Sr. Data Analyst will play a crucial role in transforming data into meaningful information that drives decision-making processes across various departments. The ability to effectively communicate findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams will be crucial to their success in this role. 

As a member of the Product Security team, the Senior Data Analyst is responsible for the design, development, and management of data sources, dashboards, self-service analytic tools, reports and/or data extracts to meet organization information needs.  The Analyst will gather data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, or files, ensuring data quality and completeness, prepare data for analysis by cleaning, filtering, and transforming it into a usable format, ensuring accuracy and consistency, apply statistical and analytical techniques to interpret data, identify trends, patterns, and relationships to uncover insights that can support decision-making and create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations (such as charts, graphs, and plots) to present findings and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather data from various sources, such as databases, APIs, or files, ensuring data quality and completeness.
  • Prepare data for analysis by cleaning, filtering, and transforming it into a usable format, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to interpret data, identify trends, patterns, and relationships to uncover insights that can support decision-making.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and data visualizations (such as charts, graphs, and plots) to present findings and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
  • Using data-driven approaches to solve complex business problems, optimize processes, and improve efficiency.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Filter and clean data by reviewing reports, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems.
  • Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Uses a variety of tools to manipulate, analyze and extract data, including SQL, PostgreSQL, Grafana, Prometheus, Pandas, Power BI, Python, PowerShell, and API interaction.
  • Presents BI solutions, creates design and standard operating procedure documentation, leads end-user trainings, and facilitates discussions with colleagues from all levels of the organization.
  • Act as a centralized resource for data requests by understanding what data is available and how to retrieve it and/or figure out what needs to be done to acquire and deliver the desired data sets.
  • Provide structured and high-quality content, summarizing trends and flagging underlying drivers.
  • Maintain data analytics platforms.
  • Ad hoc querying and data analysis.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data science, information technology or related fields.
  • 5+ years of related data analyst work experience.
  • Experience in data-centric design, development, and modeling with a primary focus on SQL, Grafana, Power BI, reporting, and analytics solution development
  • Proficiency with SQL and understanding data models (other analytical platforms/languages a plus) and their relationship to reporting.
  • Experience with automation, deployment, scheduling, ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
  • Ability to construct a foundation and implement a long-term strategy for Enterprise Reporting platforms.
  • Experience working with very large datasets.
  • Ability to interact with business users to identify reporting and data analysis needs.
  • Unrelenting desire to get to the bottom of the problem and get it right.
  • Drive to execute and deliver both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Technical Skills: SQL, PostgreSQL, Grafana, Prometheus, Pandas, Power BI, Python, PowerShell, and API interaction.
  • Strong consultative skills, with the ability to advise and consult with business and technical professionals.
  • Ability to communication highly technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
