Program Description: As a leading provider of advanced information technology solutions and professional services to U.S. federal government agencies, is the prime for a $807m task order in support of the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies (IDT) DIGIT (Digital Innovation for GSA Infrastructure Technologies) task order driving digital transformation and delivering continuous improvement and business value to its customers. The team is comprised of the best-in-class technology partners to leverage forward-leaning technologies and best practices to transform GSA’s IT capabilities and shift offerings to provide a more flexible service delivery model, completing the agency’s shift to a fully digital experience along with its adoption of advanced, emerging technologies such as intelligent automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

Position Description: DIGIT is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Solution Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, developing, and implementing solutions that meet business demands with a focus on optimizing and enhancing our IT environment. This role involves working with diverse technologies including ServiceNow, on-premise infrastructure (storage, hosting, network, security), and various automation tools.

Requirements

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role shall perform the following (to include but not limited to) activities: 

  • Evaluate and analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions using advanced technologies.
  • Design and implement solutions on platforms such as ServiceNow, as well as manage on-premise infrastructure including storage, hosting, network, and security systems.
  • Develop automation strategies to streamline operations and improve system efficiencies.
  • Lead and contribute to DevSecOps initiatives to ensure seamless integration of development, security, and operations.
  • Propose and engineer modifications and upgrades to existing systems to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are integrated smoothly and align with business objectives.
  • Create and present Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for new projects and technologies.
  • Design and develop proofs of concept, pilots, and prototypes to test new ideas and technologies before full-scale implementation.
  • Conduct continuous research to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Document and maintain system configurations, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide hands-on implementation of solutions and technical guidance to team members and stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Public Trust Clearance by start date.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Training and ITILv4 Foundation Certification, may be obtained within 120 days after hire.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Engineer or similar role with a strong background in ServiceNow and on-premise infrastructure.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with Agile and DevOps projects
  • Experience implementing technical and process changes in a highly complex infrastructure environment
  • Expertise in network architecture, data storage systems, security protocols, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Contributions to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. 
  • Work is performed remotely under limited supervision and may supervise others.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven track record of leading projects.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Broad understanding of IT technical concepts, systems, and processes. 
  • Proven ability to work independently and on own initiative. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly & analyze quantitatively. 
  • Detail oriented, and ability to meet, and exceed, quality standards. 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with an ability to determine an appropriate level of detail given project milestones. 
  • Excellent planning, organizational, communication and time management skills.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7-12 years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in IT architecture, development, Enterprise Architecture, or similar role preferred. 
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., architects, operations personnel) to gather service requirements in support of design and delivery of service capabilities.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable. 
  • Performs work that requires practical experience and training while under supervision.
  • Working Experience working with VMware, VRO, VRA
  • Working Experience with Git and development tools
  • Understanding of ServiceNow Platform
  • Working Experience with identity solutions (Active Directory, Okta, Sailpoint)
