Description

As a Clinical Data Integration Engineer, you’ll be responsible for helping us execute VHP’s mission of “bringing the promise of precision health to everyone, every day” by ensuring the successful delivery of our products to our clients and partners. You’ll achieve this by delivering complex clinical data integrations with our clients EMR/EHR enabling them to unlock value from our platform suite. In this role you will be executing the capture, quality and analysis of data from diverse sources, including electronic health records, eCRF, apps, advanced specialty labs, images and others. You will be responsible for data capture through ingestion into Verily FHIR based repositories, ensuring data collected are of high quality, documented and ordered to support planned and potential use cases across products.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and define internal and external customer requirements for clinical data exchange. 
  • Work with VHP clients and data integration and enrichment partners to integrate their clinical data.
  • Ensure client data is managed according to high standards of quality and security.
  • Work alongside other teams within the Client Solutions organization, including Customer Success and Technical Support, to scope and prioritize projects, and ensure successful delivery across the entire client lifecycle.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, MIS, or related scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years of clinical data integration or clinical data interoperability experience such as EMR, Health Insurance, Acute care, Post-Acute, Health Systems and HIE.
  • Experience with both existing and emerging interoperability standards such as HL7 V2.x, (essential) and CCD, IHE profiles and FHIR.
  • Knowledgeable in industry standard patterns like FHIR, capabilities like Clinical Terminology mapping and technologies like API Web Services, SOA etc. as well as experience using SQL while working with datasets.
  • Professional experience facilitating and leading data solution design, architecture and delivery planning activities across geographically diverse and multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with a track record of handling multiple customers and streams of work.
  • Experience with writing business requirements for clinical data applications and data interfaces.
  • Knowledge of leading Provider EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, GE, Allscripts, Meditech or HIE.
  • Knowledge of Security, Privacy and PHI/PII concerns.
  • Familiarity using a notebook-based (Jupyter, Zeppelin, etc.) and cloud-based (GCP, AWS, Azure) workflows.
