Sr. Data Engineer

GDIA Tech – Customer 360 Data Marts (CDM) team is looking for a Sr. Data Engineer with hands on experience using Lean and Agile methodologies to build and deliver various Purpose Built Data Products.  Data Engineer will be part of the CDM portfolio and will collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Product Owners to build, validate and release Data Products. Work with other foundational teams in defining the strategy, roadmap and Technical foundational capabilities on GCP

• Provide extensive technical, strategic advice and guidance to product teams and key stakeholders around data transformation efforts. 
• Develop data pipelines by using Python/Pyspark to make data available in BigQuery analytical data store from disparate internal and external data sources 
• Work with on-prem data sources such as Hadoop, Teradata and Cloud data sources (GCP) understand the data model, business rules behind the data and transform to Purpose Built Data Products 
• Build cloud-native services such as Dataproc, Dataflow and APIs to support and expose data products
• Partner closely with our data scientists to ensure the right data is made available in a timely manner to deliver compelling and insightful solutions.
• Orchestrate and Schedule workflows using Astronomer (Airflow) 
• Design, build and launch shared data services to be leveraged by the internal and external product teams and business users

• Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology or equivalent
• 5+ Years of experience guiding product teams in developing and releasing data products using Big data technology and tools such as Hadoop, Hbase, Hive, PySpark and Teradata
• 2+ years of experience with GCP or similar cloud services in building foundational capabilities
• 5+ years hands on experience in a traditional data warehouse environment (ETL pipelines) 
• Experience in migration of applications from legacy systems to Cloud platform 
• Ability to choose suitable technology and tools, run PoCs and recommend right solutions 
• Experience with establishing CICD pipelines
• Highly motivated with analytical and problem-solving skills in a challenging environment
