(Senior) Backend Developer

Role Summary:

As a Backend Developer at GFT, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, maintaining, and enhancing various backend services critical to the organization’s functions. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and high-performance of backend systems in the banking domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write clean code to develop functional web applications.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Perform UI tests to optimize performance.
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications.
• Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Gather and address technical and design requirements.
• Provide training and support to internal teams.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Liaise with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features.
• Follow emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• From 5 to 8 years of experience as a Backend Developer.
• Strong expertise in Java and related frameworks.
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).
• Hands-on experience with programming languages like Python (optional).
• Working knowledge of CMS framework.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in the banking domain.
• Experience with Backend as a Service (BaaS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Elixir and headless CMS options.
• Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, and CSS).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Familiarity with Thought Machine.
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning.
