We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied Master thesis in the area of AI-based generation of 3D environment models from raw sensor data. You will be part of the simulation and statistical validation team for automated and autonomous driving at BMW and support the development of state-of-the-art methods and processes for environment modeling.

 

What awaits you?

  • As part of a master's thesis, AI-based methods for creating 3D environment models based on raw sensor data shall be investigated.
  • For this purpose, the state of the art of available methods for the derivation of 3D geometries from raw sensor data and their semantic segmentation shall be evaluated.
  • Based on the most promising candidates, initial implementations for reference scenarios shall be carried out.
  • The evaluation of the results based on ground truth information and the conception of automated processes shall conclude the work.

 

Please note that your thesis must be supervised by a university on your part.

 

What should you bring along? 

  • Bachelor in computer science or equivalent.
  • Previous knowledge of artificial intelligence and computer graphics.
  • Previous knowledge of the programming languages C++ and Python.
  • Interest in robotics, automated and automated driving.
