About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in leading the development and implementation of analytics solutions using Microsoft Power BI. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and mentoring analytics development teams and possess deep expertise in Power BI and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of analytics engineers and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure high-quality deliverables
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data modeling, visualization, and dashboard design

Analytics Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain complex Power BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements
  • Ensure data accuracy, performance, and usability in all analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for analytics initiatives, aligning with business goals and objectives
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business insights and competitive advantage
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in analytics and business intelligence technologies

Technical Expertise

  • Utilize advanced Power BI features, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), Power Query and dataflows
  • Integrate Power BI with various data sources, such as SQL databases, cloud services and APIs
  • Implement data governance and security measures to protect sensitive information

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored analytics solutions
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively
  • Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the value of analytics tools

This role will be mainly based in Columbus, Ohio.

About You

You’ll bring extensive analytics engineer experience gained through a combination of industry and consulting roles. You will be comfortable developing and strengthening peer-to-peer level relationships at all levels with our clients.

Ideally, you will have as much of the following experience as possible:

  • Extensive experience in analytics engineering or a related field
  • Experience leading analytics development teams
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Power BI, including advanced data modeling and DAX
  • Proven track record in a consultancy or client-facing role is highly desirable
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
  • Proficient in SQL, data warehousing, and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with other BI tools and technologies is a plus (e.g., Tableau, QlikView)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
