Amazon is seeking an experienced and business oriented Engineering Project Manager to lead and execute the deployment readiness activities (product, deployment and operations) for new automation technologies for the continued expansion of our fulfillment network. Technologies include, but are not limited to, mobility robots, manipulation robots, robotics storage solutions and automated packaging and sortation products.
Successful candidates will have Program and Project Management experience in a technical environment, preferably related to automation technology development and installation. They led and have contributed to hardware product deployments utilizing and implementing scalable installation processes. The individual will manage a cross-functional group of stakeholders and customers - from deployment, safety and technical support teams to Amazon Operations - and lead efforts to define and validate product, installation and operational requirements for new technologies to successfully deploy at large scale.
Engineering Project Manager in Deployment Readiness will support the Technical Program Managers in the same team to define an installation process and related KPI (cost, time, resources, skill) for new technologies and track and improve those against initial baseline.
The Engineering Project Manager will also be responsible for managing critical path and milestones along with product development phase exit criteria and help other teams deliver network capacity on time as per defined baseline KPI. They will drive and invent and simplify strategy, will have high work capacity while being detailed oriented and agile to manage business changes and keep driving the initiatives. Successful Engineering Project Managers in DR will be interfacing with and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization in order to be successful. They ultimately hand over a complete deployment package to their main customers Robotics Deployment and Operations.
There is also a requirement to travel extensively (~50%) to locations in Europe and occasionally to international sites (USA), depending on the product development location and timeline.
