Summary

The Senior Product Specialist works closely with Application Engineers and product developers to drive product development and provide expert help in deployment of complex advanced features. In this role, the Senior Product Specialist will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to tackle complex issues, ensure product quality, and shape direction of new product features. Key focus areas will include Optics, Photonis and Electrical engineering.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop competence in one or more products working independently and be recognized as an expert
• Lead portions of projects and motivates others towards a common goal.  
• Work with Customers & Application Engineers & RDs to understand emerging needs / requirements and create product specifications Validate new product features & ensure it meets the requirements and quality
• Provide expertise to application engineers and customers in deploying advanced solutions
• Develop the trust and respect of team members
• Learn new tasks and adapt to change, establish priorities, and handle various tasks simultaneously, perform job under pressure or in critical situations

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

• Required education and degree type: Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Opto-Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field with photonics major with 3 or 5 years' experience. Knowledge of optical and photonics theory.
• Knowledge of relevant Ansys software (Lumerical) or other similar software.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Strong knowledge and understanding of photonics theory and applications in photonic integrated circuits/silicon photonics. Understanding of semiconductor physics and thermal physics.
• Prior experience with using numerical solvers such as FDTD, BPM, charge transport, heat transport, photonic circuit solver.
• Familiarity with EDA/EPDA design flows, including compact model development and validation.
• Participation in an MPW run including design, fabrication, and testing of silicon photonic chips.
• Programming experience with MATLAB, Python or other similar programming languages.
