As a Data Engineering Team Lead, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our enterprise data infrastructure. You’ll lead a data engineering team and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data solutions. 

Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers.

  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely project delivery.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Work with many stakeholders, provide support, and help achieve business goals by providing great data solutions.

Work closely with our data platform architect to keep pushing our data platform to great performance, scale, quality, and industry standards.

Data Infrastructure Development:

  • Design, develop, and maintain a scalable and reliable data infrastructure using Snowflake as the core data platform.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for data engineering projects.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security by implementing best practices and standards.

ETL Development:

  • Develop, test, deploy, and schedule complex ETL/ELT solutions.

  • Integrate multiple data assets across the organization using ETL tools such as Matillion (and Azure Data Factory, if applicable).

  • You are expected to do hands-on work as part of your day-to-day work

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Proven experience of 3 years in data engineering, with a focus on building and managing data infrastructure and analytics systems.

  • At least 3 years experience leading a software team or data engineering team.

  • SQL Proficiency:

    • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.

    • Develop and optimize SQL queries and scripts for both ad hoc and recurring data requests.

    • Implement data modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies to enhance query performance.

  • Strong expertise in Snowflake as a data warehouse and data integration platform.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide team members.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills and great ability to interact with many interfaces.

Advantage:

  • Working experience with Azure Data Factory and Matillion

  • Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions and best practices.

  • Development of ETL processes using Phyton

  • Understand self-service BI tools such as Superset.

  • Experience with Power BI
