Cloud Data Engineer
Our Cloud solutions are enablers of the digital transformation for business and our normal life. One of the enabling technologies for the digital transformation is Cloud computing, this will enable a completely other way of working for the business.
In order to support this, NXP-IT formed a Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CoE) reporting directly into the CIO. The Cloud CoE’s goal is to enable accelerated and sustainable adaption of Cloud across the enterprise (both business and IT) - maximizing the ability to realize its benefits while reducing risk.
The Cloud CoE is responsible for defining Strategy and policy for Cloud Computing, driving and implementing cloud landing platforms, running Proof of concepts, piloting emerging cloud services (e.g. Machine learning, data lake, AI) and supporting business-initiatives in adapting Cloud technologies (including the organizational change).
As the Cloud Data Engineer you are challenged to build and operate a cloud data platform in line with vision and stakeholder expectation. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as a passion for data engineering, analytics and data science. You should have a positive attitude and good communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.
Your Responsibilities
- Enable business and IT teams to develop and deploy their cloud based data value cases on the Cloud data platform.
- Design, implement and maintain analytics/AI/data solutions fitting to the fully automated cloud data platform, while adhering to the compliancy and security guardrails.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and create in close collaboration with data value case teams, re-usable cloud data products, and the underlying enabling tooling for Cloud based IT services, including documentation.
- Design and implement, processes and tooling to monitor and improve the operational, security and performance health status of the products
- Work in DevOps / Scrum settings and apply techniques of continuous verification & delivery to ensure the quality of our products and services. You built it , you run it
- Work in close collaboration with the Central Data Office and Data Value case teams to have the necessary features and enablers in place to support all data value cases in nxp.
- Respond to technical issues in a professional and timely manner
- Be evangelist of Cloud computing to the rest of NXP
- Stay up to speed with the newest Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Pro-actively collaborate with other IT teams and business teams
- Actively participate in communities / forums / guilds on cloud computing and data solutions (e.g. data engineering, analytics, machine learning) (both external and internal to NXP)
Your profile
We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer with the following characteristics:
- Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering (e.g. Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence)
- Tangible experience designing, executing and supporting IT Cloud Solutions
- Understand (business) requirement and translate these in technical solutions
- Proven experience in software engineering techniques, cloud-native architecture and supporting tooling
- Prior experience in working on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or similar) and microservice-architecture oriented solutions is a definite plus
- Knowledge of the DevOps culture and principles.
- Experience with data engineering, and possibly with data science
- Up to date and proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and supportive tooling
- Up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats, current best practices, and latest software.

- Are technical, creative, analytical, open-minded and transparent on own work
- Are eager to learn and not afraid to take initiative. You know how to learn from failure
- Have great English communication skills, both verbally as in writing
- Have technical background and affinity with R&D
