Cloud Data Engineer

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze data engineering requirements.
• Define data sources, data formats, and data processing needs.
• Design a scalable and efficient cloud-based data engineering architecture.
• Choose appropriate cloud services and tools for data storage, processing, and analysis.
• Develop a detailed data flow diagram and system architecture documentation.
• Implement data integration processes to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into the cloud environment.
• Ensure data quality and integrity during the integration process.
• Set up and configure cloud-based data storage solutions.
• Optimize data storage for performance, cost, and scalability.
• Implement data processing pipelines for efficient analysis and transformation.
• Utilize cloud-based processing frameworks for distributed computing.
• Implement security measures to safeguard data during transit and at rest.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Set up monitoring tools to track system performance and data quality.
• Establish regular maintenance procedures for system updates and enhancements.
• Provide comprehensive documentation for the implemented data

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud data engineering.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes.
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools.
• Familiarity with machine learning and AI concepts is a plus.

This position will work remotely but will need to go onsite to our client’s location for meetings as needed.
