Job Description:
Effective AI models start with high quality, reliable data. As a member of the Model & Data Maintenance team, your role will be to ensure we source the highest quality data sources and train models to constantly improve and iterate through consistent data labeling.
In addition, you’ll work closely with the Strategic Intelligence Analysts at Rhombus to identify new data sources. These sources will help expand the scope of the platform across regional, functional, and technical domains using open-source and commercially available data, and help answer some of the most difficult questions our clients seek to solve.
These core functions of data labeling, source discovery, and evaluation will directly correlate to our Rhombus models, ensuring successful client outcomes and advancing U.S. national security interests.
Responsibilities:
- Discover and analyze raw open-source data streams that complement Rhombus’ raw data or can help in solution development.
- Analyze methods of ingestion and identify potential strategic use cases for new data sources.
- Complete recurring data labeling projects on time with high attention to accuracy.
- Quickly communicate roadblocks and issues to manager and wider team to ensure prompt resolution for deliverables and identify recurring issues.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of strategic intelligence analysts, data scientists, engineers, and data consumers in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Maintain the data stream, data validation, and QA/QC process for one or more of the Rhombus AI/ML models, ensuring the continued training and output meets client needs.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all information and data.
Qualifications:
- At minimum, BA or BS in International Affairs, Political Science, Economics, or similar social science.
- Well-rounded interest/expertise in current events, military affairs, and emerging disinformation trends, and the ability to decipher and understand foreign regional news events.
- Technical intelligence and data analysis skill sets such as geospatial analysis, Python, STATA, or R are desired but not required.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance if required for specific projects

- Analysts will be expected to be flexible under demand, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- We’re seeking folks who are self-starters - with strong intellectual curiosity and creativity, with an ability and willingness to learn new skills and apply novel solutions to problems.
- Comfort in a fast-paced start-up environment is crucial, with the ability to consistently revise your approach in response to new information, and to be flexible and adaptive.
