We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Software Quality Assurance who wants to make a difference to the health of the world. Consisting of a variety of platform modules developed by our teams and data privacy experts, these platform solutions provide Life Sciences and Healthcare customers advanced possibilities to anonymize data while optimizing the quality and vastness of their data, simultaneously. Reporting to the Head of Privacy Analytics Platform, as Senior Manager, Software Quality Assurance, you are responsible for two teams with around 8 or 9 direct reports and some offshore resources. The larger is the QA team, who are responsible for testing, measuring, and ensuring quality across our platform. The second team is our L3 (Level 3) platform support team. When our Level 1 and 2 support teams cannot resolve an issue, it gets escalated to your team to resolve. For both the QA team and L3 team, we will look to you to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day line management of a multinational group of Software & Resource Testers and L3 product support resources with specialties ranging from application & API performance testing to ML model validation.
  • Establishes advanced software QA/test strategies, standards and, methods and conducts complex software tests. 
  • Develop and drive quality assurance KPIs and metrics. Measuring, tracking, and reporting on quality across the platform. 
  • Inspire the team and drive employee engagement. Promote rewarding career development pathways for test team members.
  • Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible automated and future configurations. Performs workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.
  • Work closely with client support organization resolving client requests and to promote client satisfaction.
  • Managing resource allocation across multiple software and resource projects.
  • Manage overall team performance and growth.
  • Working with Head of Privacy Analytics Platform, assess and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the department and special projects.
  • Our ideal candidate will have:
  • 10+ years managing software test teams, providing L3 product support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in creating and motivating high performance teams.
  • A desire to keep learning and stay current with new technologies.
  • The ability to reason about software and a passion for finding subtle ways to break it.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Technical Requirements:

  • Automated end-to-end user interface testing experience.
  • Performance and load testing experience.
  • Experience with Python, Perl, JavaScript, or other scripting languages.
  • ML and NLP testing experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure solutions would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with automation and engineering collaboration tools.
  • Experience managing and executing automated and manual test plans.
  • Project Management experience in large/complex organizations.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.

This opportunity is flexible to hybrid working in Ottawa Canada. The successful candidate will be expected to manage their schedule to allow productive overlaps with Canadian and Europe business hours.
