Research Engineer in Energy Systems & Software

Within this framework, we are looking for an agile and highly-motivated “Research Engineer in Energy Systems & Software” to join a team of future shapers.

The candidate will work in the field of Smart Grid technologies for Power Systems’ Analysis and Control and Energy Management and implement appropriate software platforms addressed to Utilities (DSOs, TSOs) and Energy retailers. As research engineer, the candidate will work in a small group while being versatile and independent and will tackle innovative research projects in the area of Smart Grids.

Responsibilities:

• Analysis of requirements related to ICT solutions supporting modern multi-carrier energy systems
• ICT systems specifications and technical reporting
• Design and implementation of software solutions for Energy Management Power Systems’ Control
• Delivery of technical presentations;
• Collaboration with multi-disciplinary research groups in the context of collaborative research and innovation projects

Requirements

• BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering including flow courses on Electric Power Systems and Computer Software or other related discipline
• MSc in Energy Management Systems or Power Systems or Computer Science
• PhD in one of the above fields will be considered a strong asset
• 3 - 5 years’ proven working experience in Electric Power Systems or Energy Management Systems will be considered a strong advantage.
• Proven programming experience in Java
• Agile development and software development tools
• Good knowledge of Distributed Systems and Communication Networks
• Familiarity with Linux systems
• Excellent use of English language
• Fulfilled military obligations, where applicable
