Frontend Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Frontend Lead to join our team with multifaceted strengths at LSEG. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our Forge Design System and our agile scrum teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in frontend development, in-depth knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, expertise in Node.js, React, accessibility (a11y), Adobe Experience Manager ( AEM ) and Git. Key Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the team to ensure consistency to design guidelines across frontend development.

· Own the frontend development efforts and coordinate the design and implementation of web applications.

· Work closely with the scrum teams to understand project requirements and provide technical mentorship.

· Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment process.

· Provide mentorship and support to team members, encouraging growth and skill development.

· Ensure the implementation of standard methodologies, including code quality, performance optimization, and accessibility standards.

· Lead version control and branching strategies using Git.

· Tackle and resolve sophisticated technical issues in the frontend development process.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies in frontend development.

Education and Experience:

· Possession of a BS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field, or its foreign equivalent.

· Extensive professional experience of at least 10 years in software development, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to application or web service development.

· A consistent record of over 5 years in crafting and building web applications using technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, and relevant frameworks like REACTJS, Vue, and Angular.

· Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a history of guiding geographically distributed engineering teams, including onshore, offshore, and nearshore members.

· A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in developing marketing solutions on AEM (Java, maven, AEM 6.5).

· A strong background in delivering scalable, robust software libraries for both internal and external teams.

· Proficiency in SDK development and maintenance for Java, NodeJS, and REACT JS libraries to implement brand guidelines.

· Strategic Vision: Ability to lead and define a consolidated digital technology strategy that aligns with the needs of various collaborators across the business.

· Provision of standardized tooling to empower development teams and maintain consistency across LSEG's digital ecosystem.

· Partnership and insight to support the development of a robust single source of truth design system.

· Advocacy and facilitation of the efficient adoption of the design system by scrum teams to accelerate the software development process.

· Definition of non-functional benchmarks for broader programs and alignment with the central architecture board.

· Proficiency in working within a matrixed organization, collaborating with business analysts, delivery teams, architecture, UX, and QA functions.

· Experience in User Experience design and graphic user interface modeling.

· Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, including working with customers to bring together requirements.

· Advanced ability to transform sophisticated requirements and abstract concepts into practical designs and software applications.

· Knowledge of integrating accessibility components for screen readers and other accessibility features into front-end pages.

· Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and Subversion.

· Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.

· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

· Experience working in an agile development team.

· Proven experience and understanding of building applications for different platforms, including web and mobile browsers, recognizing their outstanding characteristics.

Competitive Edge: You'll be even more competitive if you have:

· Extensive experience working with AEM and accessibility (A11y).

· Solid understanding of or experience with authentication schemes like OAuth.

· Experience in working with design systems to support an enterprise digital experience.

· Familiarity with technologies such as natural language processing, machine learning, information retrieval, information extraction, document classification, summarization, and named entity extraction and resolution.

· Solid understanding of agile software development methodologies.

· Experience in building and presenting with web services using PHP, Java, or Python.

· Proficiency in using and designing APIs and RESTful web services, in line with industry standards.

This role is performed during UK business hours and occasional weekend work may be required.
