About the Role

We are looking for an experienced TPM manager to lead our team of Autonomy TPMs. In this role, you will accelerate Nuro’s Autonomy progress by defining the roadmap and driving execution of our milestones across all Autonomy teams.

About The Work

In this role, we expect you to –

  • Lead a team of Software TPMs and TPM managers, overseeing all Autonomy teams, namely: Behavior, Controls, Perception, Mapping & Localization.
  • Amplify the impact of the TPM team by raising the team’s bar of excellence, instilling a culture of integrity and unbiased evaluation, as well as leading and iteratively improving the software organization’s planning and execution.
  • Drive progress in our company’s most critical area, by partnering closely with the Autonomy engineering leadership to set the strategic direction, and by owning and leading execution of the roadmap and milestones.
  • Possess a deep technical understanding of most/all AV algorithm development areas in order to effectively lead technical program planning and problem solving, bringing clarity and driving decisions forward.
  • Always look for ways to improve our processes and tooling – identifying possible systemic blockers or accelerators, and effectively leading change across teams and priorities to ensure we are constantly working better.
  • Build strong relationships and coordinate cross-functional collaboration with other organizations that enable Autonomy development, including Autonomy Platform (simulation, visualization and introspection tools), onboard Software and Hardware, Systems & Safety, and Operations.

About You

  • At least 7 years of experience in technical program management, product management or engineering management in a software organization.
  • Seasoned people manager, preferably with experience leading a team of TPMs/TPM managers.
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as an ability to build relationships and foster cross-functional collaboration between people and teams.
  • A proven track record of bringing complex technical products to market.
  • Past experience with project management tools and Agile methodologies.
  • Start-up DNA: you thrive in a fast-paced environment with high ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Strong technical depth in a quantitative field; and a passion for AI, robotics & machine learning, and the way they are transforming our lives.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Aerospace Engineering, and/or equivalent technical experience or aptitude.
  • Prior experience in safety critical applications (nice to have).
