Senior Product Designer - Cloud Databases

Singularity Data is an early-stage startup that innovates next-generation database systems. The company develops RisingWave, a cloud-native SQL streaming database for modern real-time applications.

Singularity Data was founded in early 2021. The team includes a group of experienced database researchers and practitioners who were previously employed in pioneering companies such as AWS Redshift, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, LinkedIn, Uber, etc. Singularity Data has raised tens of millions of US Dollars through the seed round and the series-A round led by top-tier VC funds.

RisingWave is a cloud-native streaming database that uses SQL as the interface language. It is designed to reduce the complexity and cost of building real-time applications. RisingWave consumes streaming data, performs continuous queries, and updates results dynamically. As a database system, RisingWave maintains results inside its own storage and allows users to access data efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Gather business objectives and project requirements from stakeholders;
• Ability to do rapid prototyping, develop low-fidelity wireframes to communicate design options and align on a solution;
• Be a users advocate and base designs on data gathered from user testing and usage metrics;
• Champion user experience pain points and convert them into product features to meet user's needs;
• Create high-fidelity designs informed by customer feedback;
• Excellent collaboration skills and work with engineers to create design specifications for implementation and ensure accurate implementation;
• Work collaboratively to improve design styles and components for use across the entire product.

Requirements

• Experience designing cloud B2B products;
• Experience in user-centered design with hands-on experience throughout the process, from user research to developing prototypes and collaborating on implementation;
• Experience in delivering wireframes, UX flows, mockups, interactive prototypes, design specifications final assets as well as personas and use case development;
• Ability and passion to understand distinct user groups quickly and iterate solutions to their needs;
• Work with a cross-functional team, partnering with users, product owners, and development teams to deliver business value;
• Expert knowledge with design/wireframing software such as Sketch, Adobe Suite, or equivalent;
• Familiarity with prototyping/animation tools such as Principle, Axure, Figma, or equivalent.
