Senior Software Engineer (Open Source)

Your mission

Our open-source framework Haystack is used by thousands of developers to build LLM applications. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Open Source Engineering team, you will collaborate to make LLMs more accessible for developers and enterprises globally.
You’ll contribute to improve our open-source Python framework, to make it more developer-friendly and extend its functionality, while also interacting with our vibrant open-source community.
On top, you’ll work closely with our team that is building "deepset Cloud" - a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform designed for building applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and managing them throughout their entire lifecycles for our enterprise clients.

Your impact

• Implement new features, and contribute on launching new versions of our open-source framework Haystack
• Work closely with our community to understand and address their pain points when building Haystack Pipelines
• Work closely with our ML Engineers on integrating new techniques to improve GenAI systems in a scalable and robust way
• Help to bring more AI systems in this world beyond the prototype stage

Your profile

• 5+ years of overall experience, having worked in a related field
• Excellent coding skills in Python
• Practical knowledge working with LLMs is highly desirable
• Ambition to learn and "hungry”, with the ability to dive deep into new tech & complex projects
• Having previous interaction with open-source communities will be considered a plus
