Data Engineering Head

The Data Team acts as a central hub for asking analysis questions. We are a small team of developers and consultants who believe in impact driven work. We believe in democratization of data and are major supporters of knowledge distribution to empower the company. We don't shy away from getting our hands dirty whenever it comes to anything data and we demand critical and collaborative debate when tackling problems.
As the head of our Data Engineering team, you are  responsible for day to day management of the Data Engineering team. In this role,  you will build robust, efficient and reliable data pipelines consisting of diverse data sources to ingest and process data into data platforms (AWS, Mysql, Hubspot), design and develop real time streaming and batch processing pipeline solutions, and assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Set guidelines for Data Engineers on data practices and policies that ensure scalability
• Working closely with Decision Science and Technology to ensure data is shared properly and/ or hashed when required
• Work with stakeholders including the Product Engineering Team and Decision Science teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
• Collaborate to define the architecture and technology selection.
• Lead other special projects from the Head of Data or Chief Risk Officer.

Skills and Experience

• Proven work experience as a team lead of data engineers. Strong leadership and communication skills
• At least 5 years of experience with data pipeline related processes and its tools (Google Cloud Composer, Apache Airflow, dbt cloud, BigQuery, Cloud Run).
• Deep analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Extensive experience in SQL, Python and Apache Airflow
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
