Motive is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer with advanced skills and experiences in Tableau to join the People Analytics team. The BI Developer utilizes workforce data from our core HCM and other systems to provide insights across the full lifecycle of employees. This role will be working directly with leaders in our People & Places team to develop a suite of Tableau products that serves as the sources of truth on people data and drives insights that facilitate better people and business outcomes across Motive. What You'll Do:

  • Partner with stakeholders across the People & Places team, Business Intelligence team, Finance, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop strategies to meet data needs, and provide design documents for implementation.
  • Create compelling and user-friendly dashboards using Tableau and other tools such as Python, R, Google BigQuery to communicate findings and insights to business leaders.
  • Drive the collection of new data; improve and refine existing data sources through automation. Drive projects to improve data quality.
  • Write complex SQL queries to clean, process, and transform dataset to optimize the operational efficiency and performance of dashboards
  • Develop and track success metrics of dashboards (such as data accuracy, utilization, user satisfaction) and continuously improve user experience by addressing user feedback.
  • Communicate regularly on program/project plans, progress, blockers, and risks to cross-functional stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Research and implement innovative solutions to both quickly solve pain points in the moment and for long-term process optimization and redesign

What We're Looking For:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in a business intelligence and/or data analyst role, with a proven track record of delivering quality dashboards and/or actionable insights
  • Advanced Tableau knowledge and experience in creating interactive and visually pleasing dashboards for consumption by non-technical stakeholders
  • 3+ years of experience using SQL to manage, retrieve, and transform data in relational databases
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively to identify solutions to complex problems
  • Strong intellectual curiosity in people data and solving business problems through the lens of people
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to communicate complex findings in a clear and concise manner to business leaders and stakeholders. Strong data visualization and storytelling skills are a must
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possesses a high level of discretion with highly sensitive/ confidential data.
  • Nice to haves:
    • Working knowledge Workday HCM 
    • Proficiency with Python (or R)
